BIMobject AB releases the world’s first fully integrated BIM object portal solution for Autodesk Revit 2013
BIMobject AB today announces an extension (app) for Revit 2013. As the world’s first fully integrated BIM object solution inside a BIM software. With the Revit app the whole BIMobject™ on-line portal is integrated inside Revit allowing BIM users to search, filter and browse dynamically for BIM object content free of charge on the bimobject.com portal. Users can view and use the full extent of the portal’s features (including fully rendered 3D previews) inside Revit, creating an easy and flexible way to find content for their actual BIM project. The BIMobject™ app for Revit is easy to install and will create a new ribbon (menu tab), where you can reach all of the real BIM objects from real manufacturers in a easy and convenient way.
The solution is the worlds first for Revit 2013 and is using no additional web plugin’s.
The integration creates a BIMobject catalogue of all content from the BIMobject™ portal. Newly added content is visible immediately from within the Revit application.
The BIMobject Revit add-in allows Revit users to easily access and download Revit families directly from the BIMobject portal making manufacture specific content available immediately.
The Revit app will be available in the coming week through the Autodesk portal for extensions at http://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/RVT/Home/Index
”This is a huge step forward for manufacturer specific BIM objects and makes it so much more intuitive for the user to quickly and easily find high-quality manufacturer specific components and insert in its BIM software. With the direct integration of the online BIMobject portal in Revit 2013, we expect the number of manufacturer-specific BIM objects to grow dramatically. Revit is the key player on the BIM market, so it was natural for us to integrate the BIMobject portal here first. The way we solved it without any web plugins also shows our commitment in creating smart and easy to use solutions without any technical hassle” says Johannes Reischböck, COO of BIMobject.
