BIMobject AB and Objects Online, Inc. signed a franchise agreement today establishing a business partnership focused on creating and distributing BIM objects for building product manufacturers in the US market.
Objects Online has been serving the AEC community for over 15 years as an online marketplace for 3D objects and BIM content. General Manager Chris Stringer, who joined Objects Online in 2004, brings 20 years of experience in architectural 3D modeling and BIM software to the company. He reflects, “the CAD format wars are over. The winner isn’t a specific product, but rather the BIM concept. The performance leaps possible by integrating 3D geometry and building information are undeniable, and companies who haven’t made the transition to BIM already must do so very soon if they are to thrive in this new environment.”
Objects Online operates through its portal www.objectsonline.com and has mainly focused on selling content for ArchiCAD and Artlantis Render/Studio. In partnering with BIMobject, the business proposition will be more focused on creating and distributing real objects based on real manufacturers’ data, providing architects and engineers with free content on a new modern web platform with plenty of new opportunities like web services, SEO optimization and channeling of product information. Objects Online’s office is located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.
Looking toward his new role managing the BIMobject Tampa franchise, Chris optimistically notes, “As BIM has transitioned from being a buzzword to a way of life for many architects, we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the demand for ‘intelligent’ real-world 3D objects...objects that convey not only the manufacturer’s design but also important product information. BIMobject is positioning itself to meet that demand through its rapidly expanding collection of manufacturer content fine-tuned for a variety of leading BIM platforms. It's the perfect combination of high-quality accurate 3D models, up-to-date cloud-based data, and the real-world products that people want in the file formats they need. Objects Online is pleased to be partnering with the highly knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic team at BIMobject to help product manufacturers deliver this next generation of valuable 3D content to design professionals.”
“Objects Online, Inc. has been in this market for many years and for us to get them as a BIMobject partner is a natural step forward for the AEC industry, where more of the CAD and BIM objects are coming from the manufacturers and not for generic symbols and 3D geometry. This paradigm shift makes it natural for Objects Online to join us in our quest to move the content to become more based on real products,” says Stefan Larsson, CEO of BIMobject.
