    Façade Facid 65

Multifunctional textile facade with a basic depth of 65 mm

Be it for a suspended, rear-ventilated façade, integrated, active screening and solar shading, an additional decorative level or a combined façade, the FACID 65 textile façade offers a wide range of design options by means of digital printing and three-dimensional malleability.

    • Various translucent and transparent textiles enables a wide variety of lighting scenarios
    • Changing the textile façade: In the event that design or communication requirements change, the fabric can be replaced easily and quickly while the building is still in use without changing the profile technology
    • based on a patented clamping system that has been tried-and-tested for years worldwide: Maximum functionality and lifecycle
    • allows optimum, simple works planning through innovative components: Efficient thanks to prefabrication and quick installation without expensive special tools or machinery

    Specifikation
    • System description of FACID 65 as a suspended, rear-ventilated façade

The system is a fabric façade, whereby the fabric is clamped all the way around with aluminium profiles.

The system essentially consists of extruded aluminium basic profiles in which a façade fabric approved by Schüco International KG is inserted and fixed with patented aluminium flexholders. Where PTFE-coated fibreglass fabric is used, a patented, coated aluminium flexholder is inserted. The clamping channels in the basic profiles are closed off using cover profiles. The basic profiles are fixed to a substructure which, in turn, is mounted on the building outer wall. The substructures must be produced from aluminium, stainless steel or galvanised steel, for example, depending on the project-specific, on-site statics. The basic depth of the substructure varies and will depend on the required thickness of the thermal insulation.

The drainage level forms a breathable, watertight and UV-stable membrane which is fully mounted on the thermal insulation and the substructure. Please refer to the relevant manufacturers for specifications on mounting the substructure, the thermal insulation and the watertight membrane.

The profiles can be installed on the façade horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Ensure that the aluminium profiles can expand sufficiently here. The system can be loaded with a maximum grammage of 400 g/m². As a basic principle, only fabric that has been tested by Schüco International KG and approved for the system may be used.

      Fabric manufacture

The fabric used for the system can be prepared either in the workshop or on the building site. To ensure that the fabric façade has a uniform appearance, the fabric on one side of the façade must come from one production batch of the fabric manufacturer. Furthermore, when installing the fabric façade, ensure that the fabric is always mounted in the same direction, i.e. the roll direction or warp direction of the fabric must always have the same alignment.

      Installing the FACID basic profiles

The FACID basic profiles must be fixed to the substructure in accordance with the requirements of the defining statics. Sliding and fixed bearing points must be considered in accordance with the statics. The contractor must also plan the expansion gaps that are standard in façade technology, in order to account for thermal expansion of the profiles. To maintain the transition between the individual aluminium profiles in the area of the fabric, stainless steel connecting pins must be used. The profile attachments must be designed with a maximum spacing of 10 mm between the fabric leading edges of the FACID profiles.

      Installing the cover profiles

All cover profiles must be secured with self-tapping V2A stainless steel screws in the basic profiles with a distance between screws of max. 1500 mm. The screw heads must be painted in the colour of the cover profiles.

      Assessment of the fabric tensioning

Once the fabric has been clamped on all sides, the fabric surface must be free of folds.
