Lilla Åland Rocking Chair

Carl Malmsten did not design Lilla Åland just as a chair and armchair. In 1941 he also designed a rocking chair with largely the same components as the armchair. Now Stolab is relaunching this rocking chair, which was produced on the basis of new drawings, in turn based on Carl Malmsten’s original drawings, made by Leif Burman. The rocking chair is stable, neat and easy to place and several can be favourably used at a table together. Centre pivots in runners and seat provide increased durability. Each backpin is grooved at both ends, providing a larger surface for the glue to stick and thus greater durability. The backpins taper off upwards, forming a strong, sprung and comfortable backrest. Bucket top-part further reinforces comfort. Milled out seat for high sitting comfort. Reinforcement with cruciform between the chair legs. Lilla Åland is also available as chair or armchair. Delivered assembled. Available in natural lacquer, oil or stain. Design: Carl Malmsten.
