The warm roof (or unventilated roof) is a system that does not require a ventilation gap under the zinc. The zinc is therefore installed directly onto its support. This implies the use of ZINC PLUS. It is recommended to place the VMZINC Membrane between the ZINC PLUS and the insulation. VMZINC's ZINC PLUS is coated on its underside with a white organic protective layer. While ZINC PLUS can withstand light condensation, it must under no circumstances be continuously exposed to standing water; therefore, the installation of the vapor barrier must be flawless.

The standing seam is aesthetic, modern, and offers uniform, low-profile joints (25 mm high with a thickness of 5 mm).

    Packaging:
The zinc is delivered in rolls to be profiled or in preformed strips on demand.

    Surface aspects: QUARTZ-ZINC® PLUS / ANTHRA-ZINC® PLUS / PIGMENTO® PLUS (blue, red, green, brown) / Bilacquered ZINC PLUS® / AZENGAR® PLUS / NATURAL ZINC

The use of the chosen aspect may not be suitable for certain applications in the context of very aggressive environmental constraints. It is recommended, if necessary, to consult the VM Building Solutions services for further information.

    Specification
    • Application:

All types of roofs. All shapes: Flat, curved, concave, convex, conical, domes.

New build & renovation, simple or complex shapes.

Pitches: For roofs from 3° (5%) to 75°, the boarding (sheathing) is continuous and spaced 3 to 5 mm apart.

      Standard Dimensions:

      Effective width: 430 / 530 / 600 mm

VMZINC Standing Seam height: 25 mm

Sheet length: 10 m; however, experience shows that for roofing, provided specific installation of the fixing clips is used, strips up to 13 m can be installed.

      Fixings:

The sliding clips are fixed through the insulation into the steel decks/panels using stainless steel self-drilling screws, which can be supplied by VM Building Solutions nv. The length of the screw must be at least 20 mm greater than the insulation thickness and must not exceed the overall system thickness (insulation + steel deck/panels) by more than 60 mm / 30 mm.

For projects located less than 3 km from the coast, these screws must be made of grade A4 stainless steel. Further inland, they can be made of galvanized steel in compliance with NF A 35-551 standards.

      Climates:

All wind regions. The choice by a professional of a VMZINC® product from VM Building Solutions must integrate the possible constraints of use according to the surface aspect considered. Each aspect of the zinc surface can change over time in different ways depending on the type of environment (seaside, high UV exposure, snow, etc.) and according to the applications (roofing, facade, rainwater drainage). The use of the chosen aspect may not be suitable for certain applications in the context of very aggressive environmental constraints. It is recommended, if necessary, to consult VM Building Solutions services for further information.

Reference Documents: Recommendations from Buildwise NIT 266.

      Fire Resistance: Complies with Broof(t1).
