A welcoming entrance at Skånemejerier

When Skånemejerier in Kristianstad decided to renew its entrance, the goal was to create an outdoor environment that would both welcome and inspire employees and visitors alike. Landscape architect Frida Recht from Eden Landskap was commissioned to design the area. The result was a new paved walkway and a small seating area, surrounded by generous planting beds featuring various perennial grasses, bulbs and solitary trees.

Frida Recht describes the challenges and solutions involved in the project:

“As a modern company, Skånemejerier has high demands for efficiency, functionality and sustainability. There was no possibility for winter storage or maintenance of outdoor furniture as part of the project.”

To meet these requirements, Frida chose Hulda outdoor furniture in hot-dip galvanized steel.

“I felt that the hot-dip galvanized Hulda created a beautiful overall aesthetic together with the edge steel separating the walkway from the planting areas, the extruded brickwork dating back to the 1940s, and the existing concrete elements and new concrete planters,” she explains.
“There are also many steel details throughout the site, both in the buildings and on the vehicles operating there.”

The aim was to create an environment that was sleek yet inviting.

“A connection that reflects the dairy’s modern character, while also highlighting its strong connection to the surrounding cultural landscape,” says Frida.
“Hulda was a great choice for the space, as it helped create a cohesive environment together with the other elements, while meeting the client’s needs.”

By combining functional and aesthetic elements that met Skånemejerier’s high standards, the project created a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for everyone visiting the site.
