BIMobject founded with a big vision!

With a long international career behind him and being one of the pioneers of 3D and CAD, Stefan Larsson has founded the BIMobject corporation with the ambition to become a global player in information technology for building products in Building Information Modeling.

With backup from Swedish BIM experts, a web development company in Gothenburg and investors from Switzerland and France, BIMobject AB (Ltd) was founded. Head office will be in Malmö, Sweden at World Trade Center. Stefan was earlier worldwide Director of sales at one of the global CAD/BIM software vendors in the world. He left this top career in March to realize his dream after 24 years in the IT industry.

The company’s business concept is based on assisting the building and interior product manufacturers with creating virtual products that will be placed in a cloud as BIM objects. From the cloud it will be downloadable for various CAD and BIM systems as native objects for the actual system. The product information will be tagged and can be easily found through Google by Architects, engineers and consultants that is using IT tools like BIM to support their design and construction process. The benefits will be higher quality and increased productivity for all information in the building process. For the manufacturers it will mean a competitive advantage to be integrated early in the design process and therefore be selected.

Software and add-ons will be developed that will facilitate the conversion of mechanical CAD data to usable BIM objects that will populate web based catalogues that will be provided as web services. The software will support the information flow for manufacturers from the internal product development department to be used for product placement by the marketing and sales departments.

The company plan to hire about ten people during it’s first year on the market and the target is to have BIMobject partners in 20 countries during 2012.
