GreenCoat® – Architecture, Steel and Swedish Rapeseed Oil

GreenCoat® is SSAB’s brand for innovative, sustainable colour coated steel solutions for the building industry. GreenCoat® colour coated steels offer not only the most sustainable product portfolio for roofs, wall claddings ans rainwater systems, but also one of the most comprehensive for the entire building industry.

    Greener, better performance

All GreenCoat® products come with premium Nordic quality steel in the substrate, which is recognized worldwide as one of the best steels available on the market. On top, most GreenCoat® products use Swedish rapeseed oil in the coating instead of traditional fossil-based oils, making GreenCoat® colour coated steels unique on the market. These unique, patented BT coatings do not only offer environmental advantages, but also increased performance. They are made for a healthier environment and reduce the release of harmful substances into the air. GreenCoat® colour coated steels are highly resistant to corrosion, UV radiation as well as scratches. They provide builders with a lightweight material that is easy to work with, even down to -15°C. Additionally, steel is 100% recyclable and offers increased durability for years to come. This has been proven by over 40 years of harsh outdoor testing in our worldwide test stations located in Florida and coastal areas in Sweden, to China and Australia. The GreenCoat® Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is available to give you details about how we produce GreenCoat® colour coated steel and care for the product lifecycle.
