Woongebouw Lighting, former offices transformed into a housing project

The design studio Diederendirrix transformed the former Philips Lighting headquarters into housings, nowadays known as Woongebouw Lighting, located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The architects preserved the identity of the building, keeping its structure while developing a new façade for efficiency and comfort.

The façade plays with light to make the most of it. For that reason, it’s opened to the surroundings. It incorporates horizontal sliding windows framing the horizon around the building and evoking the horizontality of the former building.

In this context, our vertical blinds introduce a new scale into each loft and apartment, framing the views vertically and acting as the interior decoration element in a context where the industrial style prevails. They are chosen for their easy orientation, light management, and their ability to enhance the high ceiling. Our blinds introduce a sophisticated elegance transforming all flats into pleasant homes.
