elZinc® standing seam is a traditional fully supported architectural roofing system composed of site-seamed zinc trays.

The seamed joint is very descreet, being only 25mm high, and the pan of the tray is flat.

The standing seam zinc roofing can be used to cover roofs pitched above 3º all the way to the vertical. The zinc trays can be tapered, pre-curved to concave or convex panels, so almost any architectural geometry can be weathered using this system.

Slight oil canning (quilting) is sometimes apparent, adding extra character to the zinc roof.

Zinc® double lock standing seam traditional fully supported roofing composed of standing seam trays seamed together on site.

The trays are made of 0,65, 0,7 or 0,8mm thick elZinc titanium zinc rolled according to EN988 and ASTM B69-13.

Normal tray widths: 430, 530, 580 and 600mm. Cladding weight is between 6 and 7 kgs/m2.

Trays are fixed back to sheathing / boarding using stainless steel clips secured at pre-determined centres (according to exposure) by stainless steel (A2 grade) fasteners. Sheathing / boarding to be laid flush and flat, and its fasteners driven just below the surface. For buildings that require a non-combustible substrate for the zinc, trapezoidal metal sheet panels are used as a substitute for the wooden sheathing / boarding.

The roof can be either rear-vented behind the supporting sheathing / boarding (with a ventilating space of between 50 and 100mm depending on roof pitch and rafter length), or installed in an unventilated (warm) roof design which includes suitable methods for condensation control. A structural underlay (and draining membrane) is often required under the zinc to ensure air circulation to its underside.
