Floor Access Door Models Type FT-30

Type FT-30 flood tight floor access doors are constructed for use in applications where there is concern of water or other liquids entering the access opening. Type FT-30 doors are rated to withstand a 30-foot (9.14m) head of water from the topside without leakage and up to a 5-foot (1.52m) head of water from the underside (when specified) and will resist low-pressure gases and odors. Doors are reinforced for AASHTO H-20 wheel loading and feature aluminum construction, type 316 stainless steel hardware, and engineered lift assistance for easy one-hand operation. (Patent Pending)

Guide Specifications
- Material: 1/4" (6mm) aluminum cover and extruded aluminum frame
- Cover: Diamond-pattern tread plate reinforced for H-20 wheel loading. Designed for installation in off street locations where the door is not subjected to high density, fast moving traffic. Structural calculations available upon requested. Optional Thermion Safetrax non-skid cover finish available.
- Frame: Extruded aluminum with bend down anchor tabs around the perimeter. Extrusion is designed with a water retention lip to keep standing water from falling into the opening.
- Gasket: EPDM gasket adhesive bonded around the entire perimeter of the cover.
- Hinges: Aluminum hinges welded to the cover and frame with 1/4" (6 mm) type 316 stainless steel hinge pins.
- Locking mechanism: Each door will be equipped with a minimum of 2 lever type lock assemblies to compress the gasket to provide a flood tight seal. Each lock is engaged by turning a hex head bolt from the topside of the door.
- Lift Assistance: Type 316 stainless steel gas spring operator(s) with built-in hold open device.
- Finish: Mill Finish aluminum with a bituminous coating applied to the exterior of the frame
- Hardware: Type 316 stainless steel throughout.
