    ALVEOLATER® lightweight blocks with horizontal holes are lightened clay bricks, characterized by a gross bulk density between 500 and 680 kg/m³ and a hole percentage of 55% ≤ φ ≤ 70%. They are suitable for building infill walls, including in seismic zones, with no load-bearing function. Their layer configurations are complemented by layers of insulating material (synthetic or mineral fiber) in a cavity or as external insulation ("cappotto"). ALVEOLATER® horizontal-hole clay blocks are "smooth" elements, produced in various sizes and thicknesses. Available thicknesses range from 10 to 35 cm.

The blocks must have a hole percentage between 60 and 70%. The equivalent thermal conductivity of the block will be determined through the calculation set out in standard UNI EN 1745:2012, based on the conductivity value given in Table A1 of Appendix A of standard UNI EN 1745:2012 as a function of the bulk density of the raw material used, or on an experimental value obtained on the clays used at the production plant, according to the methods and testing frequency established by the aforementioned standard. All declared characteristics will be documented through the attestation required for CE marking purposes, indicating the Certification Body and the certificate number if manufactured under control system 2+. The U-value (thermal transmittance) must not exceed ……… W/m²K. The Sound Reduction Index Rw of the wall must be no lower than ……… dB, based on experimental testing or calculation. These performance characteristics may also be documented through a manufacturer's declaration, with specific reference to test reports and/or calculations.
