POLIFEMO® / POLIFEMO® PLUS

POLIFEMO® and POLIFEMO® PLUS are devices without moving parts which via the calibrated consumption of the spheres inside the cartridge enable proportional batching of food grade polyphosphates and silicates into domestic cold water. requires the installation of two ball valves upline and downline of the component, which enable shut-off of the system and replacement of the cartridge when needed. To avoid interruptions to the supply of potable water, a bypass branch is envisaged on the system. POLIFEMO® PLUS integrates a bypass valve in the brass body, which enables the replacement of the refill cartridge without intervening on other shut-off parts, thus ensuring system continuity. POLIFEMO® and POLIFEMO® PLUS can be installed to protect boilers, water heaters, dishwashers and washing machines. The use of polyphosphates for the prevention of lime scale offers good performance with medium or hard water, up to 30 °f. Water with higher hardness values may require the addition of a water softener to protect the entire system. The temperature is also importan, as on increase of the temperature the efficiency of the polyphosphates decreases in proportion: in the case of temperatures above 60 °C even treated water may be subject to the precipitation of calcium carbonate and magnesium (lime scale).

IVAR POLIFEMO® cod. 520150: Spherical crystal polyphosphate and silicate doser with integrated safety filter to protect the system from limescale and corrosion. To be installed vertically or horizontally on the cold water pipe upstream of the domestic hot water producer (boiler, water heater, etc.) or upstream of the appliance to be protected (washing machine, dishwasher). Chemical compounds proportionally dosed thanks to the calibrated consumption of the spheres according to the quantity of water that passes through the component. Float with refill indicator for cartridge replacement. Threaded body in chromed brass CW617N, glass in Grilamid® TR, sealing elements in peroxide EPDM. Flow coefficient Kv= 2,15 m³/h, maximum flow rate 25 l/min (with ΔP = 0,5 bar). Size of the polypropylene safety filter: 100 μm. Temperature: 0÷40 °C. Maximum working pressure: 10 bar. Volume of water treated with one refill: about 30 m³. Connections: 1/2 "F (x3).
