The Chief® Velocity™ Outdoor Pedestal System is a freestanding, ground-mounted display mount engineered specifically for outdoor digital signage, where the mount itself has to withstand weather and wind loading rather than simply hold a screen to a wall. It is built from galvanized steel with an outdoor-rated primer and powder-coat finish, and the line is UL 2442 Part 2 listed for outdoor-rated construction and wind-tested to 140 mph, figures that matter when a display is going to stand unprotected in a parking lot, drive-thru lane, or plaza.
The system uses a modular single, dual, or triple-display pedestal design, so a site can start with one display and expand to a multi-display configuration on the same footprint later without replacing the base structure. A single-pedestal configuration measures approximately 1712 x 719 x 391 mm (67.4 x 28.3 x 15.4 in) and weighs approximately 57.6 kg (127 lb); dual and triple configurations scale up from there and are not published as fixed figures since they depend on the number of displays specified. The slotted base plate allows about 15° of rotational positioning when the pedestal is installed, so the display can be angled slightly relative to the concrete anchor points rather than being locked to their exact orientation.
Display attachment uses a French-cleat interface with lateral shift, which lets installers achieve tight, even bezel-to-bezel gaps on multi-display configurations. The back of the pedestal is open for maintenance access, and tamper-resistant security screws are used throughout, which is standard practice for outdoor, publicly accessible installations. Optional accessories include a speaker mount and a back cover for additional weather protection. Installation is designed for two people without heavy-lift equipment, anchored to concrete via threaded rod or wedge anchors, which are ordered separately. The mounting-hole pattern on the base is 560 x 1186 mm.
The single-pedestal configuration is engineered around 55 in outdoor-rated Samsung and LG displays with a published load capacity of 150 lb (68 kg). Typical applications include quick-service restaurant and drive-thru menu boards, outdoor wayfinding, and other exterior digital signage installations where the display and its mount are both exposed to the elements.
