A cold roof, or ventilated roof, is a complex in which the underside of the VMZINC zinc is in contact with the air.
This ventilation consists of an air gap at least 40 mm thick, in which the CO2 contained in the air allows the VMZINC zinc to naturally patinate on the underside. Air can circulate through this air gap through openings at the bottom and top of the roof slope, i.e., from the eaves strip to the ridge.A continuous breathable underlay is installed on the cold side of the insulation. The underlay must terminate in the gutter.
The installation of a vapor barrier is mandatory. The quality of the vapor barrier is determined based on the building's humidity class. The Aludex®Max membrane is also recommended for this purpose.
The standing seam is aesthetic, modern, and offers uniform, low-profile joints (25 mm high with a thickness of 5 mm).
Packaging: The zinc is delivered in rolls to be profiled or in preformed strips on demand.
Surface aspects: QUARTZ-ZINC® / ANTHRA-ZINC® / PIGMENTO® (blue, red, green, brown) / Bilacquered ZINC® / AZENGAR® / NATURAL ZINC
The use of the chosen aspect may not be suitable for certain applications in the context of very aggressive environmental constraints. It is recommended, if necessary, to consult the VM Building Solutions services for further information.
