This is a cladding system in which the underside of the VMZINC zinc is ventilated. This ventilation consists of an air gap at least 20 mm thick, within which the CO₂ in the air allows the VMZINC zinc to develop a natural patina on its underside. Air can circulate through this air gap via openings at the top and bottom of the cladding. These openings are essential and necessary to ensure the system’s durability.
This ventilated cladding system allows VMZINC standing seam cladding to be installed directly onto the profiled steel sheet.
The standing seam is aesthetic, modern, and offers uniform, low-profile joints (25 mm high with a thickness of 5 mm).
Packaging: The zinc is delivered in rolls to be profiled or in preformed strips on demand.
Surface aspects: VMZINC 0,7mm and 0,8mm (available in natural VMZINC, QUARTZ-ZINC®, ANTHRA-ZINC®, PIGMENTO®, AZENGAR® and lacquered Zinc), together with the entire product range, are classified A1 and do not contribute to fire spread. Lacquered finishes are classified A2. The cladding build-up achieves a A2-s3,d0 fire classification in accordance with indicative tables defining the minimum reaction-to-fire performance of the different components according to the building type. All substantial components must achieve at least a A fire classification.
The use of the chosen aspect may not be suitable for certain applications in the context of very aggressive environmental constraints. It is recommended, if necessary, to consult the VM Building Solutions services for further information.
