Chief Tempo™ Flat Panel In-Wall Mount System

The Chief Tempo™ Flat Panel In-Wall Mount System recesses the display mount and its equipment storage into the wall cavity itself, rather than surface-mounting a plate and separate storage box. The steel enclosure measures roughly 762 x 457 x 457 mm (30 x 18 x 18 in) and is designed to fit between standard wall studs, with the system engineered to support up to 250 lb (113.4 kg) of display weight when installed to 20-gauge structural steel studs, or up to 200 lb (90.7 kg) on 25-gauge studs. It is designed for drywall thicknesses of about 0.5–1.25 in and supports displays up to roughly 65 in.

Inside the enclosure, two 15 x 10 in Lever Lock™ storage plates provide about 1RU of clearance and roughly 20 lb of capacity per plate for AV components, and the system supports both landscape and portrait orientation. Lateral shift lets the display be centered after installation, and a service extension of up to 10.65 in lets a technician pull the display forward out of the wall cavity to access cabling and stored components without fully removing it. Knockouts sized at 0.5, 1.25, and 1.5 in are provided on all sides of the enclosure — including the wall-facing side — for flexible cable and conduit routing, and top and bottom single-gang electrical box openings are built in for power.

The published hardware weight for the enclosure and mount assembly is approximately 35.4 kg (78 lb), and the system is TAA compliant. Chief markets the system as pre-engineered for installation speed, structured cable routing, and concealed device storage directly behind the display rather than in a surface-mounted box.

Because the entire mount, storage, and cable-routing assembly sits inside the wall rather than protruding from it, the Tempo In-Wall Mount System is typically specified where a fully flush, architecturally clean display installation is required — corporate lobbies, conference rooms, and other commercial spaces where a surface-mounted storage box is not acceptable.
