    Trafic Bollard EP 600 EM/EP 800 EM

ELKA traffic bollards EP 600-EM and EP 800-EM made of weather-resistant V4A stainless steel, electromechanical with a maintenance-free BLDC motor and high efficiency. The running time is approximately 4.0 seconds (EP 600-EM) or 5.5 seconds (EP 800-EM), designed for 5 million cycles, at up to 2,000 cycles per day. The dimensions of the cylinder are 600mm (EP 600-EM) or 800mm (EP 800-EM) height  and 273mm (diameter).

Can be used for access control or as a protective barrier in pedestrian zones, access roads or on commercial properties. Pedestrians and cyclists can pass through unhindered, while vehicles are subject to access control.

The wall thickness of the cylinder of 4mm is increased to 8mm in the highly stressed area by a reinforcing tube. There is a reflective sticker and programmable LED lighting ring at the top end of the cylinder. Thanks to a translucent wiper ring, this is clearly visible even when retracted. An optional buzzer built into the traffic bollard (warning tone while the bollard is moving) provides additional safety. The traffic bollard can be manually unlocked in an emergency via the cover (patent pending, EP23712795.6), e.g. using a fire department triangle.

Thanks to the waterproof motor and gear unit (protection class IP 68), the traffic bollard can be submerged in water for short periods of time.

    Controller series M1-S and M1-G
The separately available controller M1 can control up to three traffic bollards (max. cable length 80m). A wide-range power supply provides DC power to the controller and traffic bollards. Includes connection options for external components, e.g. three induction loops, radio, RFID. Soft start and soft stop ensure a smooth operation. The controller has digital and analog safety-related inputs for e.g. laser scanners, dead man's mode, light barrier with activatable test function. The integrated force monitoring with adjustable follow-up motion (e.g., automatic reversal) protects the traffic bollard from overloading when it is raised (e.g., if a car is standing on the traffic bollard). Network connectivity is possible via a TCP/IP interface.

The controller can monitor the end positions and report them to external systems, for example, via multi-relays. No limit switches are required for operation. However, optional limit switches for external systems can be factory-installed.

With the adjustable start-up function (patent pending, EP23712155.3), the traffic bollard lifts a few centimeters as it rises. The LED lighting becomes visible to traffic. The traffic bollard only rises fully after a set waiting time.

If a thin layer of ice has formed on the ground in cold weather, the traffic bollard with the adjustable ice-breaking function (patent pending, EP24717096.2) briefly lifts with greater force when raised. The ice breaks, and the traffic bollard can rise properly.

Can be used in a temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C. A heater for the traffic bollard or a heater for the controller housing is available as an option.

Eyelets on the base plate serve as an installation aid for positioning the traffic bollard. ELKA offers a selection of different installation options, including installation without a foundation. The traffic bollard is delivered without pre-assembled cables. The cables are easily connected using terminal blocks and a gel casting.

The exceptionally shallow installation depth (1.052 mm) is ideal for installation in urban areas with existing supply lines. With an appropriate foundation, maximum impact loads of 33,000 J without destruction or 200,000 J with destruction are achieved (calculated value).
