The elZinc® façade panel is a zinc architectural cladding solution composed of self-supporting interlocking zinc panels with shadow (reveal) joints. They combine a flat solid feel with a certain delicacy due to their slim dimensions.
They are installed either horizontally or vertically, interlocking with one another to form a rear-ventilated rainscreen.
The panel joint’s visual impact can be subdued or accentuated by the architect by varying its width from 5 to 25mm. Combining different widths in the same façade allows blocks of panels to be created to visually modulate the façade at greater intervals. Other design features, such as tapering the panels, can also be used to add interest to the zinc façade.
Zinc rear-ventilated rainscreen façade composed of horizontally or vertically installed self-supporting façade panels made of 1mm thick elZinc® titanium zinc rolled according to EN988 and ASTM B69-13.
Ventilating space behind cladding to be a minimum of 20mm, or according to project design criteria, whichever is the greater.
Reveal joint width between panels can vary from 5mm to 25mm. Panel face nominal maximum 300mm. Panel length nominal maximum 4000mm.
Panel weight per lineal meter ≈2,95kgs, ≈9,5kg/m2.
Panels shall be secured back to supporting structure using fasteners made of grade A2 stainless steel, or A4 grade in severely corrosive environments. Supporting structure profiles (rails) to be perpendicular to panel orientation, have a face width not less than 40mm, and be installed true and plumb. Rail centres to be determined such that the rainscreen cladding resists all dead, imposed and live loads, and accommodate deflections and movements without suffering any damage.
