Materials and surface treatments

Recycled sand cast aluminium

Aluminium recycled from scrap, hand cast in sand moulds. The energy consumption when producing recycled aluminium is about 5% of that used when producing virgin aluminium.

Plastic

Fiberglass

Glass fiber is often used as reinforcement in plastics to increase rigidity by coating a glass fiber fabric with a plastic, usually a polyester, which hardens and binds the glass fiber together.

Bronze

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin. The material is extremely weather-resistant.

The water feature version requires some assembly.

The water basin version has four countersunk holes drilled in square formation which require four sunken stainless steel M10 bolts. The centre-to-centre distance is 185 mm.

Maintenance

Sand cast aluminium

Maintenance on aluminium is not normally needed, but make sure to wash and keep the material clean. Untreated aluminium develops a matte surface over time.

Cast bronze

Should a product crack or break through vandalism, it works perfectly to solder or weld the material. A damaged oxide layer can be restored through patination by a skilled craftsman.
